Before capturing a stunning sunset image at this location last fall, I spent some time experimenting with this vertical composition. I was immediately drawn to the variety of tones present, particularly the peak fall colors juxtaposed against the serene lake.
Initially, I was unsure about the greens along the base of the mountain, but as I continued to observe the scene, I realized they provided a perfect complement to the changing seasons in the foreground of the image.
